On the lazy journalists who as children...

I have a published. Saturday post about the Red Hat. was. Comment on Facebook. Which resulted in the entire discussion thread.

In this regard, there are several reasons.

There is a fairly typical move - to lead the discussion on the topic of discussion in the direction of the author's identity. Give him advice on how and what he needs to do. Remember his profession (though in this case I have something to be proud of - my part of the ' deuce ' oldest in the world ), then complain about the laziness of the representatives of the profession and its representative....
In short, to throw a switch on the ' fallback ' debate.

I am working as a journalist for over 15 years. And - in the IT sector. This is important. I've had offers to move to the political and business press, but I'm not looking ' refused. I loved it IT topics. And not even the subject matter, but that is different (it was then) the scope of our new economy. With modern ideas, including communication....

But even then, the ' democratic ' times of the second half of the 1990s, I was constantly amazed that progressive IT leaders, as soon as touched upon the subject media (for what they are, how they work), I immediately took one of two positions.

1) vulgar market - ' corrupt ', ' custom ', etc.
2) the Soviet- communist - ' should ', ' required ', etc....

Since then, it took 15 years and, in general, little has changed. Moreover, today, is clearly seen that the second ' position' appears more and more. And what's interesting: IT reflection on the part of representatives of foreign companies (which seems to be borne here Western ideas and views ) is stronger than the Russian.
But it is clear. All this is clearly consistent with the general direction of social and political development. And, according to my observations, the media perception of this or that person is very well correlated with the proximity of his work with the state machine of the country.

I sincerely wonder misunderstanding many people, especially those working in the IT sector, failure to understand that the information space in the world today is not what it was even 10, let alone 20 years ago. What do we live in an age of Internet, social networks, very different possibilities of interaction and with each other and with society. And this, in particular, qualitatively alters the positioning of the media in society, changing the functions of media. And this applies, including not only books, but also some of its employees, including journalists.

In the comments thread has been expressed this idea: do not want journalists held for them at the press conference. And here would come, FPIC would - they would have told me everything....

On this occasion, two excerpts from two reports of press conferences held this week.
Under one - from my post (.
http://cloudclub-ru. blogspot. com/2011/10/red-hat. html. ).

Actually it's all the dry residue in a series of speeches that lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes.... At the session of the ' question and answer ' time, as usual, not enough (but the schedule was provided - that in itself is not bad ).

This is -. from the not- my. (c lasted - 1 hour 30 minutes! ).

' Time to answer questions was very little, but Dmitri...'.

I will conclude by repeating what I said in that discussion thread:.

' Clushaya talk about lazy journalists, every time there are complaints about the association with the director the play, explaining the lack of spectators in the hall, idly current population. '.
